Who We Are

We are a global collaborative design practice that brings together communities, researchers, artists, creatives, technologists and immersive technology practitioners to co-create XR interventions that address society’s most complex challenges through human-centered innovation.

Grounded in the philosophy of collective sensemaking, we believe meaningful interventions are not invented by individuals – they are cultivated through collective wisdom.

Rather than working in silos, we convene Collaborative Design Fellowships: purpose-built, transdisciplinary teams that work alongside communities to cultivate a shared understanding of the challenges they are facing and collaboratively design immersive interventions through Extended Reality (XR) and Spatial Computing.

XR is our native medium – not because technology is the objective, but because every medium shapes how people understand the world. XR enables people to inhabit perspectives, explore complex systems and experiment with possible futures before they are realized.

We don’t simply create immersive experiences, we create the conditions necessary for communities and experts to imagine, test and shape better futures.

The world’s greatest challenges do not suffer from a lack of intelligence. They suffer from fragmented intelligence.

Researchers generate knowledge, communities hold lived experiences, artists reveal emotion, technologists expand possibility and policymakers shape systems, but too often, these perspectives work in parallel rather than together. XR Without Borders exists to bring them into the same conversation because we believe the future is not built by the people with the best answers, but by those willing to ask the most meaningful questions together
